Bloom RVA

Where We Grow Together

Founded in January 2025, Bloom RVA has become a thriving space where Black women gather, grow, and ground themselves in joy.

Here’s what we’ve built together:

  • 520 members and growing

  • 10 in-person events across Richmond

  • 1 mission of joy, rest and real connection

This movement is rooted in intention and proof that when Black women are given space to show up as they are, beautiful things bloom.

    Community Activities

What do you like to do? We want to have fun and make Richmond feel like home.

  • Illustration of four person icons connected in a circle with arrows, surrounding speech bubbles, representing communication or teamwork.

    Social Connection

It’s not just about meeting people—it’s about finding the people who just get you.

    Empowerment

We celebrate each other’s wins—big or small—so we can bloom into our best selves.

    Inclusivity

This space is as diverse and beautiful as the melanated women who join it.

    Support

Life can be hard—you don’t have to do it alone. We’ll be here with you for every step.

Adult Field Trips +
Social Gatherings

A yoga class with people sitting on mats in a studio with plants and wooden floors. One person is standing and handing something to another seated person who is smiling.

Remember how exciting field trips felt as a kid? You got to step away from everyday routine, explore something new, and share it all with friends?

We’re bringing that energy back—just for Black women.

At Bloom RVA, we call our social gatherings adult field trips because they offer what so many of us need: a break from the grind, space to breathe, and time to simply be. These moments are designed to spark joy, curiosity, and connection, and we would love for you to come with us. It’s your turn to feel seen, supported, and celebrated—no permission slip required.

Bloom Rewind: What We’ve Done

  • A group of people standing in a museum, surrounded by artwork and sculptures. They are engaged in conversation. Some wear coats and casual clothing, while one individual is dressed in a patterned sweater and boots. The museum setting includes marble columns and framed paintings.

    Museum Meetup

At our inaugural event, we got to know each other and shared reflections on history, art, and identity. It was a chance to engage our minds and spirits and to experience it all in community.

  • People sitting on yoga mats in a calming room with plants, engaging in conversation.

    Yoga

We gathered in an intimate space for deep breaths and gentle movement. Guided by local yogi Sunny, the evening offered a chance to reconnect—with our bodies, our breath, and each other.

  • Person wearing a black cap and holding a book in a classroom setting. The person is seated with other attendees in the background. The focus is on the individual, highlighting their braided hair and blue sweater.

    Book Exchange

Think shared stories and and Black women swapping their favorite reads. Our first book exchange was about conversation, connection, and the joy of passing something good along.
